Blowing Up The Twist Out....

This look is the product of adding Giovanni Direct Leave In with a bit of water and some oils. I really wanted to have BIG hair. Eventually, I'd have to pick it apart with my fingers and really play with it to get the thickness that I wanted. But alas, it has arrived!!! You can really see my brown hair that was dyed a few months back versus the newer growth that is still black.

Time for a Twist Out!

I had my twists in for a bit over two weeks, and it was time for them to come on out!!! Here is the result. I love a good, defined twist out...but I REALLY love throwing conditioner in it and turning it into a gigantic twisty fro!!! I'll be doing that in a few days! It's amazing the longevity you get when you rock twists for awhile!!!

Roots: Have You Seen These Products???

One of the members of Janet's glam squad was a natural girl, and cute as a button. We'll call her Lil' Janet. Anywho, her hair was so soft and supple, it was insane. I asked her what products she used, and she brought these two products down from her hotel room. She likes the product on the right, but she absolutely adores and cannot live without the product on the right!!! I looked at the ingredients, which contain mostly glycerin. Nevertheless, I WANT IT!!! She said she has only seen them in Los Angeles. If you have seen these products before, please tell me where!! ;-)

Close Up Of My Twists

Today I co-washed my twists. I used Giovanni Smooth as Silk shampoo and conditioner. This was my first time shampooing in quite a while, and my first time ever using that shampoo. I drenched my hair in condish, for about 15 mins. After, I lightly rinsed, as to leave a bit of condish in my hair. Then, I used a bit of Coconut Oil and Vatika Oil as my leave in. And voila, here's my hair, still wet.

Twisting!!!!

Oh shucks!!! Look, I'm in twists again!!! I'm really wanting to do micro twists. My goal is to keep myself twisted for a few weeks, probably only two. I am getting really bored with them though, and I'm ready to bust out into a full twist out! So, the first time around, I had them braided to the ends. But, someone from my Naturally Scandalous You Tube Channel told me to leave them open and twirl them around my fingers to get them to curl. Instead, I finished my hair and threw some conditioner in it, wet my hair and let the bottom curl naturally. I'm just hoping and praying this helps me keep my ends safe!

Twisting is a way to keep me from playing with my hair. I constantly play with my hair, and darn near every time that I do, I lose a strand. So, maybe if I stopped tampering with it, my ends won't be so busted! Yikes!

Neem Care Shampoo

I don't shampoo often, because of the excessive stripping and all the other hoopla. While visiting My Organic Market, I found Neem Care Shampoo, which caught my eye after finding out about the whole Ayurvedic deal. Very interesting. This one can me found at betterbotanicals.com.

Lemming: Qhemet Biologics Sampler

The Soften and Hydrate Sampler at Qhemet Biologics looks like a true must have. Here's the scoop: "Due to our limited production capacity and the high demand for this product, items in the sampler, which consists of four 2 oz. trial sized products, may vary. The two constant items will be the Karkady Tea Replenishing Mist and the Amla & Olive Heavy Cream. The third and fourth items will vary based on availability between the new Burdock Root Butter Cream, the Honeybush Tea Soft Hold Gel and the Olive & Honey Hydrating Balm." I love the Amla and Olive Cream, I try not to use it too often because I am trying to stretch it out!

Shrinkage

Shrinkage is so whack. I mean really, you never get to see how long your hair really is without pulling and tugging on it. I am happy to see how much longer my hair is, with shriankage. This picture of my hair is straight out of the shower, looking rather dense. When looking at it, I didn't really notice a difference, UNTIL I looked at pictures of my big chop. I was utterly shocked, my hair has almost doubled in size. I can't wait to see how much longer it gets within the upcoming years!

Bantu Knots!

I'm attempting the infamous wavy bantu knots tonight. I'll be so mad if they don't look okay!! Well, not really, I'll just throw it in a puff!! I still have a quarter jar of Curly Meringue that I am trying to get rid of, so I decided to use it tonight! After my co-wash, I used my glycerin/water mix, Redken Anti-Snap, a bit of Shea butter and the Curly Meringue. I'm hoping that it will come out more wavy than frizzy. I probably should have made them smaller, I'm sure they would have looked better that way. We'll see in the morning....

Aphogee Treatment

I did the treatment right after I finished the video, any my hair feels super strong. Not necessarily dry, but not super moist either. I probably should have moisturized a bit more after I finished last night. It's been about 12 hours since, and I don't see many coils. That Aphogee treatment was serious!!! I'll be co-washing everyday for the next few days to make sure my hair gets the moisture it needs.

Fantasia IC and Water

I had a whack looking twist out yesterday, so I decided to bust out the curlies! I wet my hair a bit, than slathered on some gel. BTW, this stuff is SO much better than the $40 Curly Pudding and Curly Meringue. It's so hard to capture the coils on the picture.

Essence Hair Gallery...Loving This Fro'

I often frequent the Essence Hair Gallery. It gives excellent style ideas and tons and tons of categories! I am especially loving this look. I wonder if I will ever be able to duplicate it?? As I've said before, I have never been super in love with fro's. Yeah, I do wear one daily, but it's not my dream style. But this...this is FABULOUS!!! Check out the Essence Hair Gallery, you may find a whole new look!!

This Particular look can be found in the Super Naturals category. Looks to me like a braid out using really, really chunky braids.
